Amazon Context Links (Beta) Launches

Content monetization options for your blog keep getting better and better. Just yesterday John Chow opened Kontera Inline Content Ads for us and today I see an invitation to join Amazon Associates Context Links Beta.

Amazon Associates Context Links Beta is a program very similar to Kontera Inline Link Ads - it searches your pages for the relevant keywords and then transforms these keywords into product links. When user mouses over the link, a box with the relevant product ad appears:

When user clicks on the ad, he is taken to the Amazon Product Page. If he buys the product, you get affiliate commission.

As you can see, the main difference between Kontera and Amazon link ads is that Kontera pays per click (CPC) and Amazon pays per action/purchase (CPA). So you’ll have to try and decide which one is better for you.

I have enabled Amazon Context Links on this blog. They are not showing up just yet, since Amazon needs to process it, but should be up soon . I will see how it goes and report to you later.

Update:  The link ads showed up on the site, but some of them started crashing my Firefox browser when I moused over.  I have disabled them until I figure what’s up. If you have any ideas, post them in the comments.
